District Collector K. Haritha announced that special measures are being implemented to improve public health services in remote areas of the district. She spoke at a programme held at the Collectorate on the occasion of World Health Day.
The event was attended by Additional Collector David, Asifabad MLA Kova Lakshmi, Sirpur MLA Palvai Harish Babu, District Medical and Health Officer Seetharam, and Government Medical College Principal Dr. Subodh, along with other officials.
The Collector stated that development works are being carried out in health sub-centres, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and government hospitals to provide better medical services. She added that efforts are being made to complete the construction of the Government Area Hospital in Kagaznagar at the earliest, with plans to launch it by September.
She also highlighted the importance of timely vaccinations for children, including the HPV vaccine, and said awareness programmes on nutrition are being conducted across the district. MLAs Kova Lakshmi and Palvai Harish Babu emphasized strengthening medical and Anganwadi services at the village level. They called for improved healthcare access in tribal areas and greater awareness on nutrition and family planning.
