Suraram police, acting on a tip-off, have apprehended eight individuals involved in the sale and consumption of MDMA and cannabis, seizing drugs worth approximately Rs. 12.2 lakh. The operation was conducted under Cr. No. 790/2025 U/S 8(c) r/w 22(c), 20(b)(ii)(A), 27(b), 29 of the NDPS Act.
The arrested peddlers include Akram Ranjeeth Kumar, Kukatla Nitesh Kumar Yadav @ Nash, and Vuppari Naveen Kumar @ Tillu. Ashwin from Bangalore, the main supplier, remains absconding. Among the consumers detained were Mohammad Shauruddin, Nagireddy Venkata Shashidar Reddy, Kunchala Shivabrahma, Karimeraka Sai Kumar, and Medarimetla Laxmi Nandini.
Police investigation revealed that Ranjeeth Kumar sourced MDMA and cannabis from Ashwin in Bangalore with the help of Nitesh Kumar and Naveen Kumar. The drugs were transported to Hyderabad and sold to local consumers. During the raid at Gayatri Residency, Suraram, authorities seized 45 grams of brown MDMA, 6 grams of white MDMA, 13 grams of dry ganja, two vehicles (Hyundai Venue and MG Hector), eight mobile phones, and a digital weighing scale.
The operation was supervised by DCP Medchal Zone N. Koti Reddy IPS and ACP Ch. Shankar Reddy, who appreciated the Suraram police team for the successful bust.
