In a bid to improve the quality of healthcare services, Health Department Commissioner Sangeeta Satyanarayana conducted a surprise inspection at the Kondapur Government Hospital in Rangareddy district on Thursday. She reviewed various medical services being provided to patients and assessed the functioning of diagnostic facilities under the Telangana Diagnostics initiative.

During the visit, the Commissioner instructed doctors and staff to ensure that all 134 types of medical tests are conducted on time and that reports are delivered to patients without delay. She stressed the need to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services, directing officials to mandatorily register every pregnant woman on the MCH portal and ensure continuous monitoring. Highlighting the rise in non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes in the district, she asked medical staff to take preventive measures, provide proper medication, and ensure regular follow-ups to reduce health complications.

The Commissioner also emphasized the need to make hospitals more accessible for persons with disabilities by providing ramps, railings, and wheelchairs. She suggested implementing rainwater harvesting measures on hospital premises.

Further, she directed officials to fill vacant posts of doctors and lab technicians in basti dawakhanas at the earliest and improve healthcare delivery through ICT centres. She also inspected the under-construction Gram Care Centre in Kondapur and reviewed the progress of works.

Sangeeta Satyanarayana expressed hope that at least 30 percent of hospitals in the district would achieve national quality standards. District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Lalitha Devi and other officials were present during the inspection.
