Telangana CM positive on Ex-Servicemen Corporation

Director of the Sainik Welfare Department, Brigadier N.R. Babu (Retd), met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday and discussed several issues related to the welfare of ex-servicemen in the State.

During the meeting, Brigadier Babu requested the establishment of a Telangana Ex-Servicemen Corporation. Responding positively, the Chief Minister directed officials of the Chief Minister’s Office to prepare the framework and procedures required for setting up the corporation. He also instructed officials to study the policies and operational models of similar corporations functioning in other States before taking a final decision.

The Director of Sainik Welfare also urged the government to convene the Rajya Sainik Board meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister. Revanth Reddy assured that the feasibility of holding the meeting would be examined at the earliest. Brigadier Babu further sought early issuance of government orders for the constitution of the State Managing Committee headed by the Governor. The Chief Minister assured that necessary orders would be issued soon.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment towards ex-servicemen and their families, the Chief Minister said any additional welfare issues could be submitted in detail to his Special Secretary for further review and action.
