Telangana is strategically positioning itself as a national role model in digital transformation and the State government is also developing a comprehensive roadmap aimed at delivering citizen-centric services with greater efficiency, transparency, and accessibility directly to the public, said Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the “Digital Transformation Finance Summit 2026,” organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at Novotel HICC on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, Sridhar Babu stated that the global economy is undergoing an unprecedented digital shift, with transformative digital ecosystems redefining traditional operational models. He emphasised that nations capable of adapting swiftly to this evolving digital landscape will lead the future global economy.

He noted that India has emerged as one of the world’s largest digital economies, with remarkable advancements ranging from digital payments to digital public infrastructure. According to him, Telangana has become a major growth engine driving India’s digital transformation journey.

The Minister highlighted that the State government is proactively building a future-ready ecosystem that integrates next-generation innovation, skilled talent, and sustainable economic growth. Telangana is moving forward with the ambitious vision of contributing 10% to India’s GDP by 2047, he said.

Speaking about the evolving role of finance professionals, the Minister observed that Chartered Accountants, once primarily associated with bookkeeping and auditing, have now transformed into strategic business advisors for corporate enterprises.

He further pointed out that emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity are creating significant opportunities in the financial sector, while simultaneously introducing complex challenges including cyber frauds, deepfakes, crypto scams, and cybercrime threats. In this context, the Minister stressed that Chartered Accountants must expand their focus beyond traditional financial auditing and actively contribute towards cyber assurance and digital risk management. He also called for greater emphasis on skilling, upskilling, and reskilling to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technological trends. Sridhar Babu invited professional institutions and industry experts to collaborate closely with the Telangana government in strengthening the state’s digital and cybersecurity ecosystem.
