Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao chaired a high-level coordination meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday to finalize arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2025. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lead the celebrations by paying tributes at the Veerula Sainik Smarak (Martyrs’ Memorial), followed by the main event at the historic Golconda Fort.
All departments were directed to ensure seamless execution. The Police Department will prepare detailed traffic and security plans, including designated alighting points for guests and the public. The Roads & Buildings Department will illuminate key landmarks like the Legislative Assembly, High Court, Raj Bhavan, and Secretariat to reflect the festive spirit.
The Cultural Department will organize performances at Golconda Fort, showcasing Telangana’s rich heritage. Fire Services will deploy personnel and equipment at key venues, while the Power Department will ensure uninterrupted electricity throughout the events.
Ramakrishna Rao emphasized inter-departmental coordination to uphold the event’s dignity and scale. The government aims to celebrate Independence Day in a way that honors national heroes and unites citizens in patriotic pride. Senior officials including DGP Jitender, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, and Hyderabad Collector Harichandana participated in the meeting.
