The Telangana Gold Cup 2025–26 Tournament kicked off in style at the Kakatiya University Grounds, Warangal on Saturday.  Imran Shaik top scored for Khammam (75 not out) and won the Man of the Match award. Pagidi Karunakar snarled four wickets on behalf of Khammam team (4/14). In the second match, TCA Mahabubabad which scored 68/2 in 8.4 overs defeated TCA Mulugu 67/8 in 15 overs. R. Suresh who took three wickets for  TCA Mahabubabad (3/13) was awarded man of the match award. The Telangana Cricket Association thanked Kakatiya University authorities, officials, players, and spectators for their cooperation and support, and reiterated its resolve to promote excellence and fair play throughout the season.

The tournament was formally inaugurated at Kakatiya University Grounds, Warangal on Saturday by the Managing Committee of the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA). The inaugural ceremony was graced by Nune Balraj, Vice Chairman (Managing Committee), Dharam Guruva Reddy, General Secretary, G. Premender Reddy, Governing Council Member, Dr P. Vijaychander Reddy, Vice President, and Dr Kali Prasad, Member. 

In the East Zone league matches held on Day 1, TCA Khammam which scored 177/5 in 20 overs restricted TCA Hanamkonda to 102/9 in same 20 overs thereby defeating then by 75 runs.
