Telangana Governor releases BP Acharya’s book on cartoons

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma formally released Obtuse Angle, a book of cartoons by BP Acharya, IAS (Retd), at an event held at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.

Addressing the event, the Governor commended BP Acharya's remarkable creative journey spanning over four decades, emphasizing the unique balance he achieved between his artistic passion and the demands of civil service.

The Governor highlighted the enduring relevance of cartoons that capture the essence of everyday life, lauding Acharya’s sharp observational skills and the subtle humour woven into his work. In his address, he remarked, "Obtuse Angle provides a window into the ironic and often humorous world of bureaucracy through the eyes of a seasoned cartoonist. It offers a fresh perspective on the complexities, challenges, and amusing moments inherent in public service."

The event was graced by prominent personalities, including  MG Gopal, I.A.S. (Retd.); Dr N. Ramesh Kumar, IAS, (Retd) Director General of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI); Ravi Kanth, I.A.S. (Retd.); N. Ramachnder Rao, former MLC, Sangeeta Verma; Frauke Qadr, Founder of Save the Rocks Society; Prof. M. Panduranga Rao, retired Professor of the National Institute of Technology, Warangal; Sridhar Rao, Trustee of Kakatiya Heritage Trust; Md. Ali Baig, renowned Indian theatre artist and BP Singhal from FTCCI.
