The 72nd birthday of Telangana’s first Chief Minister and BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was celebrated with enthusiasm at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. The event witnessed the participation of BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao, who delivered an impassioned address highlighting KCR’s journey and legacy.
Recalling the early days of the Telangana movement, KTR said KCR had dared to launch the agitation at a time when powerful political forces like the TDP, Congress, and BJP dominated the landscape. “There was no media power, no money power, no muscle power—only an unshakeable resolve to secure justice for Telangana,” he stated. He noted that KCR led a 14-year-long struggle culminating in statehood and later governed Telangana for a decade, positioning it as a model for the nation.
Responding to recent criticism, KTR asserted that only those who participated in the movement truly understand the spirit and self-respect of Telangana. He invoked historical icons such as Rani Rudrama Devi, Komaram Bheem, Sammakka–Sarakka, Sarvai Papanna, and Chakali Ailamma, describing Telangana as a land of fighters. “There are only two communities in Telangana—those who stand for Telangana and those who betray it,” he declared, energizing party cadres.
He emphasized that KCR never claimed the title of “Father of the Nation,” but people bestowed that honor upon him for achieving statehood. “Telangana itself is KCR’s legacy,” KTR said, calling upon party workers to unite and work towards bringing the pink flag back to power as a birthday gift to their leader.
