Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka, along with popular film actress Kumari Srileela, Sunday launched the breast cancer awareness book ‘Pink Power’ at Yashoda Hospitals in Hitech City.
The book, authored by Dr. Rajesh Goud, Senior Surgical Oncologist and Robotic Surgeon at Yashoda Hospitals, aims to educate women on early detection, screening, nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being during and after treatment.
Breast cancer cases are rising rapidly in India, with late diagnosis being a key reason for lower survival rates compared to developed countries. Many women hesitate to report symptoms due to lack of awareness and social stigma.
Highlighting this issue, Minister Seethakka said, ‘Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among Indian women. Awareness and early detection can save lives, and Pink Power is an excellent resource for women to recognize warning signs and seek timely care.’
Actress Kumari Srileela added, ‘Cancer is treatable today with advanced surgeries. Women should speak up, get tested, and stay hopeful. Experts like Dr. Rajesh and Yashoda Hospitals are there to provide the best care.’
