Rajasthan’s Power Minister Hiralal Nagar on Thursday announced that the state cabinet has approved the construction of 2,300 MW power projects comprising 1,500 MW of solar and 800 MW of thermal capacity through a joint collaboration between Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL).

Minister Nagar met Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad, handing over an official letter and discussing the new joint power initiatives.

He explained that the agreement between RRVUNL and Singareni marks a milestone, with Rajasthan granting cabinet approval to ensure swift execution. “These projects will play a significant role in meeting electricity needs of both states,” he said, adding that timely approval reflects the importance of fast-tracking energy expansion.

Highlighting Singareni’s first interstate collaboration, the Minister said the company plans to explore further partnerships for establishing green energy plants in other states.

The meeting was attended by senior Rajasthan officials, including Kaluram, Pramod Sharma, Singareni Thermal Power Plant ED Chiranjeevi, GM (Coordination) T. Srinivas, and other representatives, reflecting strong interstate cooperation in renewable and thermal energy development.
