State unveils Road Sector Policy 

At the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, the Government of Telangana presented a comprehensive and future-ready infrastructure roadmap aimed at transforming the state into an economic powerhouse by 2047. Addressing global investors, industry leaders and policy experts, the government reiterated its unwavering commitment to inclusive development, strategic planning, and world-class infrastructure creation.

Emphasizing that “Our vision is our policy”, the government highlighted its holistic approach to development—integrating Roads, Railways, Aviation, Digital Infrastructure, Power, Health, and Logistics into one seamless and cohesive growth strategy. The Telangana’s first-ever Road Sector Policy is a landmark framework designed to guide road development over the next two decades. The policy prioritises connectivity, economic corridors, green mobility, and innovative financing models. Telangana is emerging as one of the leading states adopting the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), implementing road projects worth Rs 11,399 crore, and developing Greenfield expressways worth about Rs 20,000 crore, including an 8-lane national highway linking the capitals of the two Telugu states and connecting the sacred Srisailam shrine through an elevated corridor.

The government also announced a transformative step—establishing a state-of-the-art Dry Port, turning the land-locked state into a crucial logistics gateway and business hub for South India.

In the railway sector, Telangana is advancing plans for high-speed, high-efficiency connectivity. Priorities include dedicated freight corridors, world-class terminal upgrades, enhanced suburban rail networks, and future-oriented projects such as a High-Speed Rail Corridor and Bullet Rail connectivity, aligning the state with global mobility standards seen in Japan, Germany, China, and South Korea. On the aviation front, Telangana aims to emerge as a premier national hub for international logistics, tourism, and business travel. Additionally, the government reaffirmed its commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure through world-class TIMS Mega Hospitals to ensure free, high-quality care for all citizens.
