TG Govt clears Rs 11 cr arrears for tribal welfare schemes

In a decisive move to strengthen social welfare initiatives, Minister for SC, ST, minorities and disabled welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar on Friday announced a series of measures from clearing long-pending dues to launching integrated schools and modern hostels for marginalised communities.

Addressing the press conference at the Secretariat on Friday, the Minister underlined the government’s commitment to students’ welfare, employee dignity, and systemic reforms that were ignored by the previous regime.

He said Rs.11 crore pending arrears released under the tribal welfare department, bringing relief to employees neglected in the past. Similarly, Rs.11.53 crore was released towards remuneration for contract, outsourced and part-time staff of TGTWREIS for July–August 2025. Rs. 2.38 crore was disbursed to Subject Associates, Senior Faculty and Games Coaches for April–August 2025. Rs. 22 lakh was released to head office staff, and Rs. 1.04 crore was cleared towards sanitation, sweeping and catering service charges. In addition to this, Rs. 9 crore additional dues were cleared for July–August, safeguarding the interests of welfare staff.

The Minister said the construction of 18 Young India Integrated Schools commenced across constituencies to provide modern educational facilities for SC/ST students.

"The construction of modern kitchens was launched  on the pilot project at Shaikpet and Dharmapuri with Rs. 24 lakh each to ensure hygienic meals in welfare hostels. Plans are devised to build a new SC hostel at Ashoknagar, Hyderabad for students preparing for competitive examinations. Similarly, CSR funds are mobilised to construct permanent school buildings in Hyderabad, supplementing government allocations," he said.
