Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Young India Skill University and Young India Sports University are his two eyes and these institutions will play a unique role in shaping the future of Telangana.
"These two institutions will serve as a cornerstone for future generations. Telangana holds a distinctive place in the nation's sports history, and we are committed to establishing it as the hub for sports in the country," Revanth Reddy said.
Speaking from the iconic Golconda Fort during the celebration of the 79th Independence Day on Friday, the Chief Minister said Telangana has maintained a special chapter in the country's sports history and the State government has taken the responsibility of making Telangana the sports Hub of the country.
The State government unveiled a new sports policy with the aim of producing top sportsmen and winning gold medals in the next Olympics. It has been decided to establish 'Young India Physical Education and Sports University of Telangana (YIPESU)', he said.
The Chief Minister further stated that the State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korean National Sports University for the management of this university and at the same time, it is also setting up Young India Schools and a university for the development of education and skills.
"Young India Schools are being established in every constituency in 25 acres of land so that students from all walks of life can study with all the facilities. These institutions will be game changers in the education sector of India. Already, 78 schools are being constructed at a cost of Rs 15,600 crore. The government has spent Rs 39,575 crore on the development of the education sector. We consider the expenditure incurred on education as an investment and not expense," Revanth Reddy said.
