Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced a 30 percent discount on Metro AC and Metro Deluxe bus services across Hyderabad, offering relief to commuters struggling amid the ongoing fuel shortage. The decision comes as residents face long queues at petrol pumps, wasting hours just to fill their vehicles. TGSRTC VC & MD V. Nagireddy, IPS, urged the public to avoid waiting in lines and instead opt for safe and comfortable bus travel.

Nagireddy highlighted that the move would save both time and fuel. With private vehicle owners spending hours waiting for petrol, buses provide a faster, hassle-free option while conserving energy. He emphasized that reducing individual fuel consumption also contributes to the country’s economic well-being, especially during times of fuel scarcity.

The initiative is also aimed at reducing environmental impact. Fewer private vehicles on the road means less congestion and lower pollution levels. Passengers using electric buses are encouraged to take part in this effort, helping to protect the city’s environment.

Commuters can now enjoy AC and Deluxe bus services at significantly lower fares, providing an affordable alternative to personal vehicles. Nagireddy called on city residents to take advantage of the offer, skip the long fuel queues, and experience a smoother, more comfortable journey.

TGSRTC officials said the discount is part of a broader strategy to ensure convenient, safe, and eco-friendly urban travel while addressing the challenges posed by the current fuel crisis. The corporation hopes this initiative will encourage more people to use public transport, easing traffic congestion and reducing the strain on fuel resources.
