78th NCC Day celebrations held in Hyderabad on a high note

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana marked the 78th NCC Day with energetic celebrations at the Mehdipatnam Military Garrison in Hyderabad. The event drew serving and retired Defence personnel, NCC alumni, dignitaries and hundreds of cadets.

The programme opened with an impressive parade, after which Major General Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, received the salute as the Chief Guest. Cadets later presented cultural performances, a horse show and tent pegging demonstrations, reflecting discipline and the core values of the NCC.

Addressing the gathering, Major General Misra praised the cadets for their commitment and underlined the organisation’s role in shaping responsible youth dedicated to national service. The ceremony ended with the NCC Song, National Anthem and a group photograph with alumni.

Air Commodore Narsingh Sailani, Deputy Director General of the AP & T Directorate, outlined recent achievements, including top positions in Flag Area and cultural events at the 2025 Republic Day Camp in New Delhi, and the second position in the All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls), along with key initiatives taken during the year.
