Hyderabad: Rashmika Mandanna and actor Dheekshith Shetty come together for the much-anticipated film The Girlfriend, produced by Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, presented by Allu Aravind, and directed by Rahul Ravindran.

Set to release worldwide in Hindi and Telugu on November 7, and in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on November 14, the movie promises an intense, emotional love story with a fresh take on romance.

Dheekshith Shetty, who plays the male lead Vikram, shared that he was drawn to the project immediately. ‘After Dasara, this was the next major opportunity,’ he said. ‘Rahul sent me the script, and I realized this story was a unique one that connects deeply with real-life emotions.’

He praised Rahul’s clear vision for Vikram, a layered character who might appear toxic at first glance but is far from it. ‘I approached the role methodically, ensuring Vikram felt authentic and relatable,’ Dheekshith explained.

He also lauded Rashmika’s performance: ‘You won’t see Rashmika you will see Bhuma. Her dedication and humility on set were remarkable.’
