Thieves loot SBI ATM after damaging CCTV cameras

Unknown thieves broke into an SBI ATM at Telangana Chowrastha in Mahabubnagar town during the early hours of Tuesday and escaped with the cash box after severely damaging the machine. The exact amount stolen is yet to be determined by bank officials. Before carrying out the theft, the offenders reportedly destroyed CCTV cameras and other equipment that could help identify them. Residents noticed the incident and alerted police and bank authorities. Police deployed a clues team at the ATM centre to collect fingerprints and other evidence. Officials said the fingerprints would be compared with records of offenders involved in similar ATM thefts earlier. A similar robbery was recently reported in Shadnagar and police suspect the same gang may be behind the Mahabubnagar theft.
