Man Jailed for Harassing Woman in Malakpet

A local court sentenced a 24-year-old man to five days in jail for allegedly misbehaving with a woman, abusing her and creating a public nuisance within the limits of Malakpet Police Station in Hyderabad.

The accused, identified as N. Sudheer Kumar, a resident of Shalivahan Nagar in Musarambagh, was booked by Malakpet Police under Section 70-C of the City Police Act through an e-petty case. Police said he was found causing nuisance and harassing a woman in a public place.

Following investigation by Sub-Inspector M. Tejya Naik and Court Duty Officer Ram Santosh, the accused was produced before the 7th Special Judicial Magistrate on Monday. After examining the evidence, the court found him guilty and awarded five days of imprisonment.

Malakpet SHO K. Narasimha said police would take strict action against those harassing women or disturbing public peace.
