In what construed to be a very important message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people to break-up for tough times ahead and gave enough hints at rise in fuel prices, grim economy and asked the people to get ready to some sacrifices from their side.

He asked the people to stop buying gold for marriages, festive occasions and other such auspicious occasions. He wanted people to do more working from home, avoid personal cars and depend more on the public transportation, avoid using foreign brands and lead more austere life.

PM Modi on Sunday addressed a massive Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) public meeting at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, capping a day of high-profile engagements in Telangana that included the inauguration and foundation-laying of multiple development projects worth approximately Rs 9,400 crore. The event, which drew an estimated crowd of lakhs, underscored the Centre’s push for infrastructure-led growth in the state and positioned Telangana as a key pillar in the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Prime Minister’s visit began earlier in the day with events in Bengaluru before he arrived in Hyderabad. At the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Gachibowli and other venues, Modi virtually or physically dedicated and laid the foundation stones for key initiatives aimed at boosting manufacturing, connectivity, healthcare, and logistics in the state.

These included the Zaheerabad Industrial Park (National Investment and Manufacturing Zone), the Indian Oil Corporation’s Greenfield Terminal at Malkapur, multi-tracking of the railway line between Kazipet and Vijayawada, the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, four-laning of National Highway-167 on the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, and a cancer-focused multi-super specialty hospital in HITEC City.

In his address, Modi emphasized that the development of states, irrespective of the ruling party, is central to India’s national progress. “Governments of different parties in the States is natural in a democracy. Development of the States is of paramount importance for the comprehensive development of the country. My wish is to see Viksit Bharat 2047 realised,” he stated. He assured that the Centre would support Telangana “more vigorously,” highlighting increased railway allocations—from less than Rs 1,000 crore in the undivided Andhra Pradesh era to Rs 5,500 crore for Telangana alone in recent years—and ongoing works worth over Rs 50,000 crore.

The Prime Minister spotlighted how projects like the Zaheerabad industrial corridor would transform the region into a smart city with world-class infrastructure, attracting global investors and generating substantial employment for Telangana’s youth. The PM MITRA Park in Warangal was positioned to revive India’s textile sector, with all central subsidies and schemes applicable. He also stressed energy security through initiatives like the Malkapur terminal and ethanol blending to reduce fuel imports and foreign exchange outflows.

A notable moment came during interactions involving Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who was present at the project inauguration event. Revanth Reddy welcomed the Prime Minister, praised the development initiatives, and urged faster clearances for state projects like the Regional Ring Road, Musi River rejuvenation, and Hyderabad Metro expansion, framing them as essential for “Telangana Rising 2047” in alignment with the national vision. He recalled Gujarat’s development under Modi’s chief ministership as a model.

In a lighter yet pointed response, Modi said the Centre was ready to extend similar benefits but added, in a jovial vein, that for full realization of goals, “it is better you join me.” The remark, made while noting potential losses in central support dynamics, drew attention amid the political undercurrents in the state.

At the evening public meeting, Modi turned sharper on political rivals, particularly the Congress. He accused the party of a “lie and forget” model, promising much before elections but failing to deliver in states like Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and now Telangana. “Congress has now become the main base of divisive, hate-filled politics. They have become more ‘left’ than the ‘Left’, and have become Maowadi, and have become more extremist than Muslim League,” he said, coining the term “MMC” (Muslim League-Maowadi Congress). He highlighted BJP’s role in curbing Naxalism in Telangana and called for a BJP government to accelerate progress.

The visit holds significant political weight for the BJP in Telangana.

Party leaders view it as a momentum-builder following recent electoral successes elsewhere and ahead of future assembly polls. Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy had been actively preparing for the event, with expectations of two lakh attendees. Security was tightened with around 2,000 personnel deployed.

Local BJP figures, including Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, noted that the Centre does not discriminate based on state governments, citing the flow of projects to Telangana as evidence. The public meeting also saw Modi meet senior leaders, MLAs, and MPs.

Analysts see the day’s events as a blend of governance and politics. While development projects demonstrate cooperative federalism, the rally signals BJP’s aggressive push to expand its footprint in southern India, challenging the Congress government led by Revanth Reddy. The presence of Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, whom Modi met separately, added another layer of regional political signaling.

As the sun set over the Parade Grounds, the crowd’s chants echoed the BJP’s slogan of development and national unity.

‘Abki Baar Telangana Mein Bhi BJP Ki Sarkaar’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday exuded confidence that the BJP would form the next government in Telangana, declaring at the massive BJP public meeting at Parade Grounds, “Abki Baar Telangana Mein Bhi BJP Ki Sarkaar” (Next time it will be the BJP government in Telangana). Addressing party leaders, activists and public that gathered in large numbers, Modi said the same enthusiasm and political momentum witnessed after the BJP’s emphatic victory in West Bengal was now visible in Telangana as well.

The Prime Minister said the BJP was receiving overwhelming support from every nook and corner of the country because people were backing the party’s development and good governance model. Referring to the party’s recent electoral victories, he noted that the BJP had secured a hat trick of wins in Assam and led the alliance to victory in Puducherry, adding that Telangana too was now moving in the same political direction.
