TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud lashes out at BJP, BRS on BC reservation

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the Congress party is committed to the issue of reservations for Backward Classes (BC).

During a press briefing at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, the TPCC leader emphasised that the local body elections will be conducted in line with the court's directive and that the Congress party will engage in discussions to decide on implementing BC reservations for the upcoming elections.He referred to the 18-month long of Congress governance as a Golden period for Telangana and criticised BJP leaders for their silence on the BC reservation issue.

Mahesh Kumar Goud also mentioned that a series of meetings would be convened to strategy for the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. He added that plans are being formulated for the local body elections and the by-election in Jubilee Hills. The TPCC chief expressed confidence that the Congress party will secure victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election. During the Rythu Bharosa Vijayotsava Sabha, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remarked that the State government is open to discussing the past decade of BRS governance alongside the one and a half years of Congress leadership regarding the progress in Telangana and irrigation initiatives, he reminded.

Mahesh Kumar Goud also lashed out at BJP Rajya Sabha Member R. Krishnaiah for his support of BRS MLC Kavitha on the BC Bill, arguing that she has no authority to address issues concerning the backward classes, given that the previous government did nothing for them during the ten years of BRS rule. He accused the BRS party of manipulating social media with misinformation and attempting to distort the truth. The TPCC chief urged the people to reject such harmful propaganda.
