Telangana Rashtriya Lok Dal (TRLD) President and former MLC, Kapilavai Dileep Kumar, on Tuesday criticized the appointment of former Indian cricket captain Mohd Azaruddin as a Telangana Cabinet Minister, calling it unconstitutional and a violation of free and fair election principles.
Addressing the media at Somajiguda Press Club, he alleged the move targets around 1.2 lakh Muslim voters in the Jubilee Hills by-poll. TRLD has urged the Governor of Telangana, Chief Election Commissioner of India, and the state’s Chief Electoral Officer to suspend Azaruddin’s ministerial duties and restrict his movement in the constituency until polling concludes.
Kapilavai also announced the second phase of the party’s Saamajika Chaitanya Rath Yatra, beginning November 13 from Karimnagar and covering Nizamabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Jagityal, and concluding in Adilabad on November 17, aiming to strengthen social unity among SC, ST, and BC communities ahead of elections.
K Indira, TRLD National Women President, expressed condolences for Chevella road accident victims, demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation per family, and called for stricter road safety measures.
