Shreenidhi Ramaswamy and Shivani Nambiar, fondly known as “the twins” among their peers, will mark a significant milestone in their artistic journey as they perform their Bharatanatyam Arangetram on Friday at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad. Disciples of renowned dancer and Director of Shankarananda Kalakshetra Padmashri Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, the duo has trained rigorously in the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam.
The evening will be graced by eminent dignitaries from the world of classical dance including Dr. Rajeswari Sainath, acclaimed Bharatanatyam exponent and Director, Sruthi Laya Kendra Natarajalaya; G. V. Anna Rao, Convenor, Natya Swara Art Critic; Mithun Shyam, renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and Director, Vaishnavi Natyashala.
About the Artists
Shreenidhi Ramaswamy, a dynamic blend of artistry and athleticism, has represented India at the World Roller Games 2019 in Inline Hockey and served as Vice-Captain of her college basketball team. She is currently pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani.
Shivani Nambiar orchestrating several successful cultural events. Her passion also finds form in her intricate mandala art. She is currently pursuing Chartered Accountancy and undergoing her articleship.
Together, they have performed on prestigious platforms, including the Khajuraho Dance Festival, Soorya Festival (Singapore), and the International Ramayana Festival (Thailand) carrying forward the torch of classical Indian dance with grace and conviction.
