Hyderabad: The sleuths of Musheerabad Police Station, Hyderabad, successfully apprehended an offender and a receiver in a case of mobile phone theft by cheating and diversion of attention. Accused identified as Mohammed Ikramuddin (24), resident of Mohallahganj in Golconda Fort and Sumeet Saini (38), resident of Badichowdi. Police have recovered the Apple iPhone 17 Air from accused persons.

On October 18, the main accused noticed an OLX ad for an Apple iPhone 17 Air and planned its theft. On October 27, he lured the complainant to Eden Home Stay under false pretenses, distracted him, and took the phone along with its charger and box. Accused later sold the phone to the receiver for Rs 69,000 to settle personal debts. The identity of the accused was confirmed through scientific investigation. Acting on credible information, the Musheerabad Crime Team, arrested both individuals on Sunday.
