Continental Hospitals inaugurated its next-generation Biobank at Gachibowli on Monday, aiming to accelerate AI-powered biomedical discovery and therapeutic development globally. Developed in collaboration with Chronicle Bio and CEO Rohit Gupta formerly of Stanford’s biobank—the initiative integrates advanced bio banking infrastructure with intelligent data systems to enable earlier diagnoses, more effective treatments, and improved patient outcomes.

Founder & Chairman Dr. Guru N Reddy emphasized that the biobank meets international standards for sample handling, storage, and consent, ensuring reproducibility and global compatibility. Through partnerships with leading U.S and international academic institutions and AI research platforms, the biobank bridges India’s clinical expertise with global scientific innovation, empowering patients to contribute to research.

Chronicle Bio Co-Founder Rishi Reddy highlighted the importance of biobanks in oncology, immunology, cardiovascular, neurology, and rare disease research. By combining biospecimens with AI analytics, the facility will accelerate biomarker discovery, drug development, and personalized treatment strategies. The biobank will collect blood, plasma, tissue, saliva, and other samples linked to de-identified clinical and genomic data, serving as a cornerstone for precision medicine and next-generation therapeutic advancements.
