Union Minister of State for MSME, Shobha Karandlaje, highlighted key Central initiatives benefiting Telangana’s MSMEs in response to a Lok Sabha question by Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya. The Centre’s focus includes financial support, global exposure, and digital integration for small-scale industries.

Under the National SC/ST Hub (NSSH), SC/ST-owned MSMEs receive a 40% machinery subsidy (up to ₹25 lakh). The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) provides margin money subsidies of 15–35%, with higher rates for SC/ST and women entrepreneurs—supporting manufacturing projects up to ₹50 lakh and service units up to ₹20 lakh.

To support artisans, the International Cooperation (IC) Scheme facilitates MSME participation in global fairs, while the National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP) promotes handicrafts through international marketing. The TEAM initiative is helping MSMEs go digital via platforms like ONDC and eKhandIndia.com. Additionally, the PMS Scheme and MSME Global Mart enable wider trade access.

MP advocates local jobs, inclusion in SCCL operations

Separately, during a Lok Sabha session on Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), Dr. Kavya raised concerns over local employment and inclusivity. She questioned the Ministry of Coal on SC recruitment and jobs for Warangal residents. In response, Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy confirmed SCCL hired 1,136 locals in Warangal between 2020 and 2025.

Dr. Kavya stressed the need for transparent hiring and emphasized SCCL’s expansion potential to create jobs and drive regional development. Her efforts underscore a strong commitment to social equity, fair employment, and the economic upliftment of Telangana.
