UVARD to focus on quality special education

The 23rd general body meeting  of was “United Voluntary Action for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled”(UVARD) was held at  its Neredmet  office on Sunday. There were 42 member NGO  heads who participated in it. Dr. P. Madhusudhan Reddy , General Secretary  of the UVARD federation presented  the 2024-25 annual report and  Kalyan, the treasurer submitted audited accounts and approved by all the members . Prof. Patan Ummar Khan Chairman of UVARD explained the future strategic planning for coming year.

 He said the federation will be focusing on quality of special education in the state and also said that it is  planning to take up research and innovation in special education and rehabilitation  and see the  placement opportunities to the differently-abled in the state. He also expressed his desire to motivate the parents  groups to start special schools where ever required.

Then the new Governing body was elected for the tenure of two years. Prof. Patan Ummar Khan, Dr.Madhusudhan Reddy  and Kalyani were elected again unanimously to be continued as Chairman, General secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Election was conducted for 2 Vice- Chairman, 2 Joint Secretaries and 4 EC members. Janaki and Siddaiah were elected as Vice Chairmen, Dr. Shyamala and Haribabu as Joint Secretaries; Lilava Prakash, Lakshmi Vijayabhasker, Madana Chary and Chandra Shekar as Executive Committee members.
