The sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, South-East Zone team, Hyderabad along with the staff of Chaderghat PS arrested 35-year-old Interstate ganja transporter on Sunday. Arrested person has been identified as Raju Jat Raju, he was involved in possession of contraband dry ganja and seized 62Kgs of dry ganja from him. Raju Jat Raju working as an Ice cream vendor and having ganja business, he is a resident of Ramagundam. Police have seized 62kgs of dry ganja, one mobile phone worth Rs 15 lakhs from him.
Police arrested him on Saturday evening at Post Office lane, near Nalgonda cross roads, Chaderghat. On enquiry with him, it is revealed that, since last five years he has been indulging in supply of ganja to his customers. Regularly he purchases ganja from one Subhash, resident of Chitrakonda, Odisha state and supply the same to his known customer Purushotham, resident of Chandrapur in Maharashtra.
Few days back Purushotham placed an order of 62kgs of dry ganja with him. On January 11, he went to Chitrakonda, Oddissa, Malkangiri and purchased 62kgs of dry ganja from Subash and came to Ramagundam on the same day. On Saturday, he came to Hyderabad by private bus, and he was standing at Post office lane, near Nalgonda crossroads, Chaderghat to go to Kachiguda Railway station in an auto. From there he wanted to go to Chandrapur by train. Meanwhile Police caught him along with contraband.
Previously he was involved in following similar cases and lodged in jail. In this case, other accused persons Subhash and Purushotham are yet to be arrested.
