Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy felicitated batting star Tilak Varma, who played a key role in India’s victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final. Tilak Varma, as a token of respect, presented a cricket bat to the Chief Minister. Tilak who returned to Hyderabad a day earlier called on the Chief Minister on Tuesday evening.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated Tilak Varma for his stellar performance in the high-tension final and conveyed best wishes for his bright future in cricket.
Minister Vakiti Srihari, SATS Chairman Shivasena Reddy, SATS MD Sonibala Devi, Principal Secretary to CM Srinivas Raju, Congress leader Rohin Reddy were also present.
Tilak Varma also visited Legala Cricket Academy in Lingampally and expressed gratitude to his coach Salam Bayash. Coach Salam Bayash expressed immense pride in Tilak's achievements and wished to see him represent India in all formats of the game. Tilak's cricketing journey began at the age of 10 under Bayash's guidance at Crescent Model English School, where he participated in HCA U-14, U-16, and U-19 tournaments.
Dr. Faheem Uddin Khaja, the school principal and a Level-1 cricket coach, praised Tilak's dedication and Bayash's mentorship, which helped him master his cricketing skills and bring laurels to Crescent School, Legala Cricket Academy, Hyderabad, and India.
Pruthvi Reddy, director of Legala Sports Arena, who provided crucial infrastructure support for Tilak's preparation for the U-19 World Cup, also congratulated Tilak on his success.
Tilak Varma is set to lead the India A team against Australia A in the 2nd and 3rd One-Day matches at Adelaide and SCG, respectively. Tilak Varma aspires to continue performing at his best to make the nation proud and hopes to represent India in the upcoming T20 World Cup in January.
