Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi raises alarm over food and alcohol adulteration
Bollywood actor Rakesh Bedi has raised his voice against the adulteration of food, beverages and alcohol. The Dhurandhar actor has called for a stringent punishment for those who put consumers’ lives at risk for financial gain. In a video shared on his social media, Bedi spoke about the alleged adulteration of consumable products and questioned the lack of stern consequences for those responsible.
Bedi said that people involved in adulterating eatables, food, drinks and alcohol should be charged with “attempt to murder”. He further argued that those who compromise the quality of products merely to make a few extra bucks are effectively putting the lives of many people at risk.
“Everything is fake. But the question that is coming to my mind is that all the FSSAI officers have been sleeping for so many years. Has no FSSAI officer ever drunk alcohol? Has no FSSAI officer ever realised that liquor is fake in our country? How did he wake up suddenly? Anyway, it's late, it's right, now that you're awake, don’t sleep,” he stated.
“A lot of things are fake in our country. A lot of food items are fake. And I believe that the person who adulterates food, he should be charged with murder or attempt to murder. Because he is trying to kill a lot of people for a little profit. So the person who adulterates food, he should be charged with murder or attempt to murder. Because he is trying to kill a lot of people for a little profit. So the person who adulterates food, whether it is alcohol, food or drinking, the person who adulterates, should be charged with at least attempt to murder,” he added.
