Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekhar Reddy on Saturday said that he would strive to take the problems faced by psychologists to the notice of state and central governments and also try to get them solved. Speaking at the inaugural function of the "World Mental Health Day" organized by the Telangana Psychologists Association and Allen Colors Group of Institutions, he said that mental health is very important for a person to be physically healthy as everyone is under a lot of stress.
He said that it is the psychologists who have to fill people with mental courage and added that there is a need to change the lifestyle and that it is not right to end our lives with stress. Former Union Minister Samudrala Venugopalachari lamented that youth are suffering from mental illness and are indulging in anti-social activities in the society. He termed as a good development” psychologists taking social responsibility to create awareness among the youth to bring about a psychological transformation. He said that psychologists have a huge responsibility to mould the mentally challenged into the future citizens of India.
Prof. Lion Patan Umar Khan, Chairman, Helen Kellers Group of Institutions, expressed his sadness that today people are being trapped in the illusion of the internet and forgetting human relationships and losing touch even with family members. On the occasion of "World Mental Health Day 2025", Dr. Praveen Kumar Satya sensitized the students on the importance of mental health services in the context of disasters and emergencies.
Dr. Mothikuri Ramachandra, State President, Telangana Psychologists Association said that on the occasion of "World Mental Health Day", awareness programs will be conducted by social psychologists in all districts of Hyderabad and Telangana.
