A 17-year-old tribal girl has accused two unidentified men of raping her while she was travelling in an auto-rickshaw in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana. The incident is said to have taken place on August 22 when she boarded the vehicle in Bhadrachalam Agency en route to Konta in Chhattisgarh.

According to her statement to police, the two men already inside the auto offered her a drink. After consuming it, she lost consciousness and later regained it in the Bhadrachalam Agency area. Early on Sunday, she reported that the men had sexually assaulted her.

A senior district police official said investigators have yet to pinpoint the exact location of the alleged offence and are verifying the girl’s account in detail. No arrests have been made so far.

The survivor was immediately sent for medical examination, and officers are recording her statement to formally register a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Further investigation is underway.
