State Tourism Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain announced on Sunday that Visakhapatnam, the destination of tourists, will host the 41st Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) summit to be held in 2026. Ajay Jain, on behalf of the state government, participated in the 40th IATO Annual Conference held at Svosti Premium Beach Resorts in Puri, Odisha from August 22 to 24. Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was the chief guest and Ajay Jain made a presentation on state tourism by speaking at a three-day event on 'Rejuvenate in Bound@2030' inaugurated by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Prabhati Parida.
He explained the opportunities for the tourism sector in the state, the concessions and incentives being provided to investors by the AP government and the industrial status given to tourism sector. Explaining the role of tour operators in the development of tourism, he said that the AP government will give priority to the development of tourist centers, creation of infrastructure of international standards and connectivity to tourist places. In this order, he explained about the new airports to be built in AP. State Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh said that with the help of the central government, efforts are being made in a big way for the development of AP tourism. On this occasion, he invited everyone to the IATO conference to be held in Visakhapatnam next year.
