Not just a promising medical career, Dr Bhumika thus leaves behind a monumental example of service before self. As a doctor while she trained to give those in suffering a new lease of life, she also spoke passionately about organ donation while she was alive and ensured her legacy lives on even in her death

A young and upcoming medical professional Dr Bhumika Reddy, gave a new lease of life to five different individuals despite losing her own life due to a tragic road accident. A medical house surgeon, Dr Bhumika met with a grievous accident on the ORR and succumbed to her injuries at Continental Hospitals in Gachibowli in Hyderabad. But despite losing her own battle with injuries she ensured that five other lives will be changed forever having received her organs: heart, liver, lungs and kidneys.

Continental Hospitals Chairman Dr Guru N Reddy expressed his deep condolences at the loss of a bright, young, budding doctor, he also lauded Dr Bhumika and her family for their exceptional gesture. “My deepest condolences to the family of Dr Bhumika in this difficult time, I feel profoundly sad that a young surgeon is no more with us, and I laud their extraordinary, bold gesture to donate the organs to help save five other lives,” said Dr Reddy.
Dr Bhumika was a bright and meritorious student, training to be a surgeon one day. She was the only child of her parents and while she no longer remains, there is no doubt that her legacy of selflessly saving the lives of others despite losing her own, will continue to live and inspire others.
