Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Telangana president and former MLC Kapilavai Dilip Kumar has urged youth and women to enter politics to build a corruption-free society. As part of RLD’s Social Awareness Rath Yatra that entered Nizamabad and Jagtial districts on Monday, he held media interactions and launched a sharp attack on both BRS and Congress, accusing them of “betraying Telangana.”
He said lakhs of young people who actively participated in the Telangana movement hoped for improved jobs and livelihood opportunities, but their aspirations were crushed after statehood. “Only geographical Telangana was achieved, not social Telangana,” he remarked. He criticised the collapse of key sectors like education, healthcare and employment, noting that over two lakh government posts remain vacant and 28 lakh youth still await skill-training.
Dilip Kumar said unity among SC, ST and BC communities is essential for political empowerment and that RLD is working toward this goal. He said the party will conduct job fairs in all districts and give more seats to youth in upcoming local body polls.
He criticised the diversion of retirees’ benefits, demanded 42% BC reservation implementation before local body elections, and accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil promises such as Rs 2,500 for women, farmer support and employment schemes. He sought immediate rollout of Rajiv Yuva Vikas loans, a special unemployed fund and a law ensuring 95% private-sector jobs for locals. He demanded Central forces for forthcoming elections.
