Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed concern over the dwindling public trust in government hospitals, alleging that essential supplies like needles, medicines, and cotton are missing in many facilities. During his visit to Jammikunta Government Hospital with Collector Pamela Satpati, the Minister handed over medical equipment worth Rs 1 crore and interacted with doctors and patients.
He criticized the State government for not utilizing Central funds under the National Health Mission, despite significant allocations from the Narendra Modi government. Sanjay warned that medical equipment provided to hospitals could be withdrawn if misused.
He also highlighted unused ambulances and accused successive governments of corruption in check dam construction, causing repeated collapses. Additionally, he announced that plans for modernizing Jammikunta Railway Station and constructing a sports stadium have been finalized.
