The New Year 2026 celebrations across Cyberabad passed off peacefully with no major incidents or road accidents, thanks to tight policing and continuous monitoring by Cyberabad Police.

A special drunk-driving drive conducted from December 31st night to January 1st morning saw 55 teams booking 928 offenders. Of them, 419 had alcohol levels above 100 mg, while 35 crossed 300 mg. Licences will be sent to RTAs for suspension under the Motor Vehicles Act. Most cases were reported from Miyapur, Gachibowli, Kukatpally and Raidurgam areas. Free shuttle services operated from party zones helped clear traffic by 2 am.Cyberabad Police said drunk-driving enforcement will continue under a 'zero-tolerance policy'.
