Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has celebrated the Congress party's resounding victory in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election as a clear endorsement of his government's two-year transformative agenda. Addressing a packed press conference, the CM emphasized that the mandate reflects unwavering public support for the administration's focus on development.
"Through the Jubilee Hills mandate, people have rallied behind our government. It's not about any single initiative; it's about our commitment to the people," Revanth stated, responding to queries on public backing for the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).
He assured that his administration would meticulously analyze the verdict to prioritize and implement more people-oriented schemes and initiatives, reinforcing accountability and progress.
CM congratulated party workers, volunteers, and the broader Telangana society for their tireless efforts, extending heartfelt thanks to Congress cadres who turned the tide. "This win has amplified our responsibilities. In Congress, we neither swell with pride in victory nor shrink in defeat—we fight public issues in opposition and resolve them in power. That's why our support endures," he remarked, underscoring the party's ethos of service over spectacle.
Tears into opposition
He lambasted BRS for peddling fake narratives on social media and obstructing key initiatives like HYDRAA and Musi clean-up, while accusing Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of stonewalling central funds and approvals for Telangana. Pointing to BJP's dismal 17,000 votes—despite Kishan Reddy's aggressive campaigning, a mere 25% of their 2024 Lok Sabha haul from the segment—Revanth warned, "This is a tremor before the earthquake. Change your obstructive style, or risk being buried."
Extending an olive branch, he invited Kishan Reddy and all Telangana MPs to the Secretariat for a key review on pending projects, schemes, and funds. To BRS leaders T. Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, he appealed as an elder statesman: "Shed your envy and arrogance; power is not permanent. With three years until the next Assembly polls, prioritize two years of state-building over politics. Question us, protest if needed—but let's focus on progress."
Revanth also urged Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka to compile a review of stalled central approvals for MPs, extending the suggestion to Harish and KTR as a platform for bipartisan input. He critiqued certain media outlets for business-driven misinformation, including false claims of BRS leads in counting despite Congress's dominance, advising them to preserve credibility through balanced reporting.
On national fronts, Revanth promised a detailed analysis of Congress's Bihar Assembly performance. Reiterating that no rival can unseat Congress single-handedly—especially after securing majorities in 65 segments during 2024 Lok Sabha polls—he closed on an optimistic note: "Even combined, BRS and BJP fell short. The people have blessed us with 51%—a mandate to serve, not gloat."
