Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has directed officials to speed up the implementation of key power sector schemes, including PM Surya Ghar and RDSS, across the state. Chairing a teleconference with DISCOM CMDs and senior officials from his camp office, the minister stressed the need for a war-footing approach to strengthen infrastructure and meet energy targets.

The minister placed special emphasis on the PM Surya Ghar scheme, particularly on extending free solar power benefits to SC and ST households. He set a clear target of completing at least 2,000 solar connections per constituency within a defined timeline between the birth anniversaries of Babu Jagjivan Ram and B. R. Ambedkar. Officials were instructed to ensure strict monitoring and timely execution without delays.

Focusing on the agriculture sector, Ravi Kumar ordered the immediate clearance of all pending electricity connections ahead of the upcoming cropping season. He reiterated that uninterrupted power supply is critical for farmers and directed officials to strengthen the electrical infrastructure to avoid disruptions during peak agricultural activity.

Highlighting the broader policy vision, the minister said the government under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is committed to shielding citizens from additional financial burden, with the state continuing to bear electricity costs wherever applicable.

He also called upon field-level engineers and staff to work with greater coordination and efficiency, noting that improved service delivery would not only enhance public satisfaction but also strengthen the credibility of the government.
