Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh announced that 78 Best Teacher Award winners from the State will visit Singapore on November 27 for a week-long study tour to learn from the city-state’s advanced educational systems and innovative teaching methodologies.
Chairing a high-level review meeting on the Education Department at his Undavalli residence, Lokesh directed officials to make all necessary arrangements for the teachers’ visit, scheduled from November 27 to December 2. He said the teachers would study modern classroom environments, digital teaching tools, and global best practices, and submit a detailed report on how such methods could be adapted to improve education standards in Andhra Pradesh.
The Minister instructed officials to organize Student Assemblies across schools on November 26, marking Constitution Day, and to conduct a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on December 5 statewide in a festive manner, involving public representatives. He highlighted the government’s new ‘LEAP App’, designed to help parents track student performance regularly, and directed wide promotion of the initiative.
Lokesh emphasized that DEOs and MEOs must actively visit schools and closely monitor academic activities at the ground level. He called for strengthening the e-Office system and preparing a 100-day action plan for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in line with LEAP-1 guidelines.
The Minister also reviewed the rollout of smart kitchens modeled after the Kadapa pilot, the implementation of PARAKH and national benchmarking systems, and the establishment of Bhavita Autism Support Centres with proper infrastructure and trained faculty. He instructed officials to consider recommendations made by the Legislative Committee on these initiatives.
Lokesh further directed awareness programs for eighth-grade students eligible for NMMS scholarships and stressed expediting plans for a Central Library in Amaravati, along with strengthening public and digital libraries across schools.
