Ranga Reddy District Additional Collector Dr. Kiranmayi has directed officials to complete the physical verification of student enrolment in government schools on a war footing. She issued the instructions during a review meeting held on Thursday with District Educational Officer (DEO) Venkateshwarlu, coordinators and Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) to assess key issues concerning the district's education sector.

The Additional Collector emphasized the need to identify and immediately rectify discrepancies between the actual student enrollment and the figures recorded in the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), ensuring that the registration process is completed without delay. Dr. Kiranmayi stressed the importance of significantly increasing student enrollment in pre-primary schools as well as Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs).

She directed MEOs to monitor schools under their jurisdiction and ensure effective implementation of enrollment initiatives. During the review, she also sought explanations from MEOs regarding the reasons behind declining student strength in certain schools, with some institutions reportedly becoming "zero-enrollment" schools. Reviewing the progress of civil works in government schools, Dr. Kiranmayi directed officials to ensure that every school is equipped with adequate toilet facilities and also that separate toilets be constructed for students with disabilities to promote accessibility and inclusiveness.

The Additional Collector reviewed teachers' attendance records and expressed concern over the low attendance of Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) at Mandal Resource Centres (MRCs) as recorded through the Facial Recognition System (FRS). She instructed education department officials to initiate appropriate action against those found to be negligent in performing their duties.
