Adivi Sesh all set to appear as ‘Dacoit’

Hyderabad: Actor Adivi Sesh is set to appear on the silver screen once again with his upcoming romantic action-thriller Dacoit. The film marks the directorial debut of Shaniel Deo and stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead opposite Sesh, with Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role. Presented by Annapurna Studios, it is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Sunil Narang. Speaking at a recent press conference ahead of the film’s release, Sesh expressed delight over the Hindi version’s stronger reach, noting unexpected interest in a possible Bhojpuri premiere.

He highlighted how the love story forms the emotional core of Dacoit, unlike his previous films where romance played a supporting role. He revealed that the story was inspired by a striking visual metaphor: “a small flower emerging from a crack in a concrete footpath on a busy road,” blending tender romance with intense action. Sesh also opened up about personal milestones. He informed that for the first time, he performed dance sequences, overcoming a childhood remark about his height that had deterred him for years.

The actor credited producer Supriya Yarlagadda as the “Karta Karma Kriya” of the film, comparing her patience to that of a parent managing a large family during the 100-day shoot. He also recounted how Anurag Kashyap agreed to join after hearing the narration in a unique setting during a wedding. Dacoit will hit theatres worldwide on April 10, 2026, in multiple languages, including Telugu and Hindi, promising a gripping mix of love, betrayal, high-octane action and heists.
