A government high school in Adoni has become a symbol of the growing public confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s public education system. The sight of a "No Admission" board at the Nehru Memorial High School in Adoni has drawn praise from Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who hailed it as a testament to the strengthening trust parents are placing in government-run institutions.

With 1,725 students already enrolled, the school has reportedly admitted over 400 new students this academic year across all classes, a sharp rise in demand that has led the school administration to officially close admissions. Minister Lokesh expressed his admiration for the dedication of Headmaster Fayazuddin, teachers, and school staff, who are now struggling to turn away hopeful parents still requesting seats for their children.

“Parents are pleading, ‘Please admit just my child, sir,’ even after we’ve announced that admissions are closed,” the headmaster reportedly said. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Headmaster Fayazuddin and his team for their extraordinary efforts. This is the kind of scene I want to see at every government school, boards saying ‘No Admissions,’” Lokesh remarked.

The minister emphasized that this surge in enrollment reflects a broader shift in public perception and increasing faith in government education. “Teachers who have restored parents’ confidence in public schools are the true charioteers of Andhra Pradesh’s model education system,” Lokesh said, adding that such schools are paving the way for a stronger, more inclusive educational future.
