Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna said that since the introduction of the first robotic surgical system in the year 2017,  more than 800 surgeries were performed using the system at the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI).

He also mentioned that on 31st January 2025, the hospital has launched its 4th generation Robotic Surgical System that will provide advanced Robotic Based Surgeries at affordable cost.  He further assured that BIACH&RI would always be in forefront to introduce and bring in advanced, latest medical systems to its patients. 

Further explaining the need of conducting CMEs, Workshops,  Balakrishna has said that the hospital is always in forefront of sharing its knowledge and experience thus benefitting the medical fraternity. 

He was speaking at the workshop on advanced Robotic Surgical System in Uro Oncology related surgical procedures. During the workshop team of expert surgeons Dr Rakesh Sharma, HOD, Uro Oncology Wing.  As part of the two day workshop surgeons team lead by Dr Rakesh Sharma along with Dr Srivatsa Narasimha, Dr Ashwin Giridhar, Dr Amiresh Mohan have performed unique surgeries such Robotic Radical Prostatectomy, Robotic Partial Nephrectomy, Robotic Radical Cystectomy + Intracorporeal Ileal Conduit; Robotic Adrenalectomy; Robotic Radical Nephrectomy; Robotic RPLND.
