An indigenously developed AI-powered Colonoscopy procedure is about to change the fortunes of patients like never before and help clinicians in more ways than one. In a conference ‘Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare 2.0 conference’ a live demonstration of AIG Hospitals’ indigenously developed AI-powered Colonoscopy procedure, performed by Dr. Rakesh Kalapala, Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation caught the eye of participants.
This technology will help GI endoscopists perform colonoscopy with better efficiency as AI-based system will help detect polyps that are difficult to see through naked eye or can be easily missed. These polyps when left undetected can potentially become cancerous in the future. This demonstration highlighted the hospital’s leadership in creating advanced, AI-driven clinical tools aimed at improving diagnostic precision and efficiency.
Dr. Rakesh Kalapala, Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation and Organizing Secretary of this event, added, "AI is not just about innovation; it's about real-world impact. The live demonstration of our AI-powered Colonoscopy and the collaborative projects under the ISB program highlight how AI is enabling clinicians to achieve precision and efficiency in patient care."
