Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to visit Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, January 8, and comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth execution of his itinerary, according to Chief Secretary (CS) K Vijayanand. On Tuesday, the Chief Secretary held a video conference with officials from various departments at the State Secretariat to review the arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit.

CS Vijayanand instructed officials to finalize all preparations by Tuesday night, emphasizing the need for strict and meticulous arrangements to avoid any lapses. He directed departments to execute their responsibilities with precision, especially given the significance of the Prime Minister’s visit.During the event, Prime Minister Modi will virtually lay the foundation stones and inaugurate several landmark projects, including, Visakhapatnam Railway Zone Headquarters, Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli, Krishnapatnam Industrial Node, Doubling of the Guntur-Bibinagar and Gutthi-Pendekallu railway lines and 6-lane bypass of Chilakaluripet on National Highway No. 16.

Additionally, he will inaugurate various national highways and railway lines to boost infrastructure and connectivity in the region. Arrangements have been made to accommodate approximately 80,000 attendees for the roadshow and nearly 1.8 lakh people for the public meeting.

The Visakhapatnam District Collector, Police Commissioner, and Municipal Commissioner have been tasked with organizing parking facilities for the attendees. Adequate lighting, uninterrupted power supply, and other essential amenities such as drinking water and temporary toilets will be provided at the venue and parking areas.

To facilitate transportation for attendees from Visakhapatnam and nearby districts like Anakapalle, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam, CS Vijayanand directed district collectors and SPs to arrange for safe transit to and from the event. Provisions for drinking water, breakfast, and meals will be made for the attendees.

Security arrangements, in coordination with the Special Protection Group (SPG), are being overseen by DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao. Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner S. Bagchi stated that extensive parking arrangements have been made to ensure smooth traffic flow.
