AICTE–ATAL FDP boosts Faculty Skills in Data Science

Bhaskar Engineering College (BEC), Hyderabad, successfully organized an AICTE–ATAL Sponsored Six-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Data Science & Analytics for Decision Making: Tools & Techniques” from December 15 to 20, 2025. The program was conducted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

The FDP was held under the guidance of J. V. Krishna Rao, Secretary, JB Educational Society; Ch. Sanjay, Director, JB Educational Society; and Sumagna Patnaik, Principal, Bhaskar Engineering College. It was coordinated by N. Vijay Kumar and co-coordinated by Shaik Yasar Ahmed from the Department of CSE.

The program featured 10 in-depth technical sessions delivered by experts from both industry and academia. Key topics included data science workflows, predictive analytics, inferential statistics, agentic AI, data visualization techniques, no-code machine learning using Dataiku, and cloud-based analytics with Microsoft Azure.

A major highlight of the FDP was an industrial visit to Infosys, where participants explored the Innovation Center, Centers of Excellence, and Living Labs. The visit provided valuable insights into Generative AI, Agentic AI, enterprise analytics platforms, and real-world AI applications.

The FDP witnessed the active participation of 60 faculty members, promoting knowledge exchange, industry exposure, and collaborative learning. The program concluded with an assessment conducted as per AICTE–ATAL guidelines, followed by a valedictory session that emphasized the growing role of data science in informed decision-making.
