The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished parts of a property owned by Ajay Devgn in Mumbai’s Juhu area over alleged unauthorised construction. However, Devgn’s office has clarified that the property in question is not the actor’s residence but a separate property that has been rented out.

The alleged unauthorised alterations were carried out in a bungalow located in Kapol Cooperative Housing Society in Juhu. According to the BMC, a notice issued on September 10, 2026, directed the owner or occupier to immediately stop the construction work and submit the necessary documents and permissions. The BMC’s October 6 order stated that the September 15 reply lacked documents establishing that the construction was authorised and had secured the necessary approval.

Statement from Ajay Devgn’s office

On Saturday evening, Ajay Devgn’s office issued a statement clarifying that the property in question was not his house. “We would like to clarify that the property in question is not Ajay Devgn’s residence, but a separate property that has been rented out. We have applied to the BMC for the requisite permissions in respect of one of our properties and are duly complying with all applicable BMC rules, regulations and guidelines. The necessary changes, alterations and modifications, as required by the BMC, have been carried out,” the statement said.
