The Bollywood superstar is now a part of the big boys All Time Blockbuster (ATBB) club
Meena Iyer :
Ranveer Singh leads the Bollywood ATBB circle with the Dhurandhar duology (2025 & 2026). Then there’s southern-import, Allu Arjun, whose Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) did better business (in Hindi) than the first part, Pushpa: The Rise (2021). Shah Rukh Khan follows with Jawan (2023) and Pathaan (2023). Younger superstars like Vicky Kaushal (Chhaava - 2025), RajKummar Rao (Stree 2 - 2024) and Ranbir Kapoor (Animal - 2023) were already present. Together, they have jointly welcomed the most recent entry into the big boys room, Ajay Devgn.
Three dedicated decades: In 35 years, the solid-superstar has been known for his penchant for drama, comedy, action and sequels. Ajay is currently basking in the collective glory of his latest release’s box-office business. Abhishek Pathak’s Drishyam: The Conclusion with Ajay Devgn and Tabu, made its presence on the prestigious ATBB (all-time blockbuster) list. And, Devgn gets his entry into it. The film’s tally after 10 days stands at ₹303 crore. This is Ajay’s first ATBB. Prior to this in January 2020, Ajay’s home-production, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was declared a blockbuster with a tally of around ₹280 crore.
Doraemon rules: The only other film that has performed alongside Drishyam: The Conclusion is Doraemon: Nobita and the New Castle of the Undersea Devil. This action-adventure, sci-fi
flick has a faithful audience and its tally after this weekend stands at ₹20.33 crore.
Kannada film quietly shines: In the meanwhile, a small film that has been finding patronage, especially in the south, is the Kannada film, Premada Oorali, translated in English as ‘In the town of love’, has touched around ₹48.22 crore in 17 days. In context with the other industries like Hindi, Telugu, etc. this may seem like a small number. However, just the fact that a regional film made for a budget which is fraction of other Indian big-budget movies, the success of Premada Oorali is worth a mention.
