Akash Goparaju’s ‘Kotha Malupu’ set for June 12 release

Akash Goparaju, son of popular playback singer Sunitha, is gearing up to entertain audiences with his much-awaited second film, Kotha Malupu. Directed by Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi, the romantic love-and-suspense entertainer is scheduled to hit theatres on June 12.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Konaseema, the film has already created significant buzz among moviegoers. In a recent media interaction as part of the film’s promotions, Akash opened up about the project, his character, and the experience of working on a completely different genre from his debut.

Speaking about the difference between Kotha Malupu and his first film Sarkaru Noukari, Akash said, “Sarkaru Noukari was a period drama, whereas Kotha Malupu is a village-based romantic love-and-suspense entertainer set in the beautiful Konaseema region. Akash described his character as energetic and highly relatable to today’s youth. He mentioned that what attracted him most to the story were the unexpected twists.

The actor expressed gratitude for the backing of Mythri Movie Distributors, saying their reputation has boosted audience confidence in the film. He also spoke warmly about his on-screen chemistry with heroine Bhairavi Ardya. Producer Thati Balakrishna received high praise from the young actor for his commitment to quality.
